The Holocaust

The Holocaust

The Holocaust is one of the most tragic events in human history The Nazi regime murdered more than six million Jews during World War II. The Auschwitz concentration camp, located in Oświęcim, was the largest of the Nazi extermination camps and is a harrowing reminder of the atrocities that were committed there.
Auschwitz was established in 1940 as a camp for Polish political prisoners, but it quickly turned into the largest extermination camp, where over 1.1 million people were murdered, mainly Jews.
Visiting Auschwitz allows you to get to know the huge scale of the crime and to pay homage to its victims.
